"After experiencing symptoms of a cold, residents visit pharmacies not only for medicines, but also for rapid tests for COVID-19. We can be happy about public awareness: patients understand perfectly well the recommendations to get checked so that the infection does not spread further. Especially since in the warm season there is no shortage of larger gatherings and personal celebrations, during which the COVID-19 infection can be spread among more vulnerable groups of society - the elderly, people with immune diseases, as well as babies and small children, who can be infected with the coronavirus. be dangerous," comments Laura Vanagaitė, a pharmacist at Gintarinės vaistinės.
The State Data Agency also records a slight increase in the incidence of coronavirus - on Saturday, 18 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country. For quite a long time, only a single-digit number of such illnesses was recorded on weekend days.
"If you feel the symptoms of a cold or after contact with another sick person, it is recommended to do a quick COVID-19 test or a PCR test in a health care facility," says L. Vanagaitė.
Although the sales of rapid tests have increased, the representative of "Gintarinės vaistinės" assures that there will be no shortage of them: "We are constantly communicating with drug wholesale companies, we monitor the balances in pharmacies and replenish our stocks," the pharmacist noted.
In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, residents are recommended to avoid unnecessary contacts, places of mass gathering, and to take tests before important events or personal holidays. Hand hygiene, sneezing and coughing etiquette are also advised.
