The registration of volunteers for the visit of Pope Francis begins. In order for the Pope's stay in Lithuania to go smoothly, about a thousand volunteers will be needed in Vilnius and Beautiful. Volunteer registration on the website www.popieziausvizitas.lt will be held until August 1
"The only restriction for volunteers is that they must be 16 years old at the time of volunteering. Of course, it won't be a music festival, but we promise an exceptional experience - there will definitely be something to remember and tell the children," Toma Bružaitė said on behalf of the organizers. The organizers will try to ensure that the volunteers can see the Pope not only on the screen.
The help of volunteers will be needed not only on the days of the visit itself, but also a week before the event and several days after it. Volunteers will help set up meeting places with the Pope and prepare the roads that Francis will drive in Vilnius and Kaunas, so that everyone who wants to can meet him as comfortably as possible.
During the visit, volunteers will be on duty on the Pope's road, provide information about events, direct people to sectors, etc. Volunteers will work in liturgy, logistics, order and flow management, and information tent teams.
After the event, volunteers will help clean up the event sites: pull up and dismantle barriers and signs at the meeting places and roads, pick up trash, put used items back in place, etc.
"After filling out the volunteer registration form and being invited to volunteer, people will have the opportunity not only to participate in a historical event, but also to contribute to welcoming this honorable and at the same time very simple guest to Lithuania. Pope Francis is famous for his unexpected deeds, often paying great attention to those who serve others both in everyday life and during various events," said Toma Bružaitė.
Pope Francis is coming to Lithuania in 2018. September 22-23 On Saturday, September 22, he will visit Vilnius, where On the Cathedral Square a meeting with young people will take place, others are planned events. On Sunday, September 23, the Pope will offer Holy Mass in Kaunas, Santaka. Later, the Pope will go to Latvia and Estonia.
How to become a volunteer? The volunteer profile can be found on the website papieziausvizitas.lt (registration form). The questionnaire can be filled out until August 1. If there are more people who want to volunteer than there are volunteer places, priority will be given to those who registered earlier.
