From now on, it will be easy and fast for the citizens of Vilnius to find the social services provided closest to home and the necessary help: crisis centers, social rehabilitation services for the disabled, day centers for children, the elderly and disabled - all of this can be easily found on the map maps.vilnius.lt. This is just one of the measures from the entire social services plan for 2019, which was approved by the Capital City Council today. This year, more attention was paid to their quality and funding was increased by several thousand euros.
The adopted social services plan includes a whole set of measures that include the development of the network of social service institutions, improving the availability and quality of services for children, youth and families, disabled and elderly persons, and persons experiencing social risk.
Another innovation is the expansion of specialized services for children. Since the beginning of this year, the "Gilė" branch of the Vilnius children's social care home, the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center has been providing intensive specialist assistance to children with behavioral and emotional disorders, those who have gone through painful experiences, those who have experienced violence, neglect, single or complex psychological traumas, those who have attachment difficulties, those who are going through a crisis.
This year, they also plan to announce a tender for the provision of accompanying care services. Young people aged 18-21, who have left the orphanage, will be able to get help preparing for an independent life.
Feedback is important for the municipality, so one of the innovations is that residents are encouraged to evaluate the quality of the social services they receive: this can be done on the websites of budgetary institutions subordinate to the municipality and vilnius.lt Health and social affairs in the subpage. The map of social services also provides an opportunity for residents to evaluate the service provided to them, and the analysis of the received evaluations will help the municipality to ensure quality control of social services.
Social services in the municipality are financed from the funds of the municipality, state budgets, structural funds of the European Union, personal (family) payment for social services and other sources of financing. The funds allocated to the financing of municipal social services increase every year: in 2017 - almost 16,8 thousand EUR, 2018 - 22,8 thousand EUR, 2019 - 24,8 thousand Eur.
More attention is also paid to social workers - in 2019. 2 million was allocated to increase their wages. EUR more, a total of 13 million is provided for wages. Eur.
Social service plans are prepared annually by municipalities in order to monitor social services, define the layout of social services infrastructure, as well as to assess the municipality's ability to provide social services according to the needs of the population. The plan reviews the results of the previous year and prepares a plan of measures for 2019.
