Today the mayor Remigius Šimašius The debate "How cities can set the tone for smart mobility?" opened the discussion of LOGIN 2018, the largest innovation festival in the Baltic States, at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre. Michael Halbherr, the recognized international expert of the mobility industry, Irene Feige, the head of the BMW Mobility Institute, Florian Lennert, the head of the international organization "Intelligent city", and Martynas Gudonavičius, the head of the travel planning startup "Trafi" took part in the discussion about urban mobility.
"Vilnius is an innovative, mobile, green city. It is the capital of Europe, where all innovative things happen significantly faster than in any other country. We are happy to have partners like Trafi in Vilnius, this team makes mobility in the city significantly more convenient and faster. This is also the motto of Vilnius - it is an open and fast city", said the mayor of Vilnius during the discussion.
At the discussion of the LOGIN 2018 festival, the mayor presented significant innovations for Vilnius - after Trafi became the official electronic public transport as a ticket distributor, users of this app will soon be able to choose public transport in addition to other transport options, such as bicycles, ride-hailing, car sharing services, and pay for the entire multimodal trip with one Trafi payment in the app. After integrating payment for electronic public transport tickets in the "Trafi" app, Vilnius becomes one of the first cities in Europe to operate a platform that combines all the most popular travel methods and allows easy and quick payment.
One of the important goals of similar platforms is to improve the city's infrastructure and manage various movement processes by having a lot of and various data on the mobility and movement of people in the city. For example, one or more such city mobility management platforms could significantly facilitate the process of issuing the necessary quotas for participants in the movement: how many self-propelled vehicles, how many logistics vehicles can drive, how many licenses will be available for ride-hailing service providers, what kind of parking policy is promising and necessary in the capital, and so on.
Over a hundred presentations at the LOGIN 2018 festival are divided into 8 main themes: blockchain, robotics and artificial intelligence, financial technology, content creation, design, creative inspiration, society and urban mobility. The presentations are followed by discussions with all professionals in the field - scientists, creatives and entrepreneurs.
LOGIN 2018, the largest innovation festival in the Baltic States, is taking place this year in a rather unusual place - the capital In the old town. According to the director of the festival, Indrės Blauzdžiūnaitė-Chevalier, a new innovation quarter was formed for two days in the busiest place in Vilnius, setting up conference spaces in unexpected, well-known places, such as the National Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Palace of Congresses and others.
