Before the beginning of the singing of the national anthem on Table Mountain, 26-year-old accountant Agnė Bražinskaitė told BNS that singing the National Anthem on the hills is an absolutely beautiful idea.

"(Singing on the Mounds - BNS) is a very nice idea. Unites all of Lithuania. When I went here, I didn't think there would be so many people. It's great that people go and participate. When I see that all over the world contribute and send those videos, it's amazing how people can be in one thing together", said A. Bražinskaitė.

Dressed in a national costume, the girl said that she had arrived on Table Mountain with the Lithuanian folk dance and music ensemble "Vaiva" and was going to perform on stage with other participants of the event. In her opinion, the national costume is a tradition that needs to be protected.

"National clothes are very important and a beautiful thing. Traditions. Everyone has to contribute at least to some extent, nurture and protect what we have," said A. Bražinskaitė.

76-year-old pensioner Antanas Žilėnas, who came to sing the Lithuanian national anthem and held a small Lithuanian flag in his hands, claimed to BNS that the National Anthem is strongly connected with his family.

"In my time, when I was still young, that song, like the flag, was the biggest bane of security. Everyone hid and avoided it so that it would not appear publicly, but in my family, at any gathering, they always greeted and said goodbye quietly with that song," said A. Žilėnas.

He added that singing the National Anthem on the mounds: "mobilizes people for such an idea, raises the spirit and patriotism."
