The products of producers who have not left Russia could be marked in Lithuanian shopping centers only if there was an official list of such businesses, says the shopping network "Norfaowner Dainius Dundulis.
According to him, currently companies that have not yet left the Russian market are mostly announced based on rumors.
"We don't visit Russia, we don't know who sells what there, and if we do, there should be some kind of register so that there are no mistakes, because at the moment it's mostly based on rumors (...) Not to take care, but to provide accurate, correct information", D. Dundulis told LRT radio on Tuesday.
He emphasized that merchants may be held legally responsible for providing inaccurate information about manufacturers.
"If we put some information, it should be guaranteed, because in this case we also bear responsibility, we may end up in court due to possibly incorrect information," said the owner of Norfa.
According to D. Dundulis, due to such information, the habits of buyers in shopping centers could change, but only slightly: "I would think that there would definitely be some changes in the behavior of buyers, for Cardinals - I would think not."
After Russia started the war last February in Ukraine some of the world's most popular goods manufacturers have announced they are withdrawing from the aggressor country, but some businesses are still trading there.
Recently, there has been a boycott in Scandinavian countries because of this JAV food manufacturer "Mondelez": its products are marked with special information in stores, orders are refused by state-owned companies.
