A representative survey conducted by the Crisis Management Center and research companies HUBEL and Norstat announces that every fourth Lithuanian resident believes that the Third World War will begin in the next few years.
The survey data revealed that the most pessimistic attitude towards the war in Lithuania is among people aged 55-64, and more often - residents of Klaipėda County. On the other hand, the people of Vilnius, those with less than a higher education and younger people in the age categories of 16-34 and 45-55, rate the probability of war as low or very low.
During the survey it became clear that in Ukraine the ongoing war is the most worrying topic for Lithuanians - more than a third of Lithuanians are worried about it.
Kristina Lymantaitė, director of the Crisis Management Center, points out that the nearby war can have an impact on this, even if news about it is avoided.
"It's clear that war next door has a huge impact on our psychological state, even if we avoid news or thoughts about it," she was quoted as saying in the report.
While older residents of Lithuania are worried about the threat of war, young people belonging to the age group of 16-24 say that the most worrying issue is savings and the lack of them. The study showed that 27 percent are worried about this. persons of this age group.
A representative online survey of Lithuanian residents was conducted on June 6-11 this year. During it, 508 people between the ages of 16 and 64 were interviewed.
