President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda says he is "shocked and appalled" by the attempted assassination and wounding of ex-president Donald Trump in the United States on Saturday.
"I am shocked and horrified to learn about the ex JAV the shooting of President D. Trump, - the leader of Lithuania wrote in the social network "X". "I'm glad to hear he's safe and I wish him a speedy recovery."
"I strongly condemn this act of political violence. He has no place in democracy," he added.
Trump was shot in the ear in a chaotic and shocking incident in Pennsylvania.
The 78-year-old former president was rushed off the stage with a bloody face. Sagittarius and one bystander was killed, two spectators were seriously injured.
The attack sent shockwaves around the world, with leaders of many countries strongly speaking out against political violence and expressing support for the victims.
