President seeking a second term Gitanas Nauseda on Saturday Beautiful will drink coffee with the winners of the signature collection lottery.
As G. Nausėda's electoral headquarters previously reported, voters are invited to participate with their relatives in the meeting held in the "Kultūra" cafe located in the temporary capital.
According to the Delfi portal, letters with invitations have been sent to a total of sixteen persons, among whom are Seimas member, "libertarian" Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius, bard Gytis Ambrazevičius.
ELTA reminds that in February, the leader of the country, who is seeking a second term, shared an invitation to sign for him as a candidate for the post of president on the social network Facebook, and promised to drink coffee with a certain part of the signatories.
"I would be happy to drink coffee with her or him, who will sign for me: 5000th, 7500th, 10000th, 15000th, 20000th," G. Nausėda wrote on the social network Facebook.
However, the proposal of President G. Nausėda, who is seeking a second term, came to the attention of the CEC after appeals from the residents. The CRC indicated that it had received complaints on the same day and sent a reminder to G. Nausėda that the Election Code prohibits bribing voters with gifts for voting, including during the signature election period.
The presidential election staff was also obliged to explain the candidate's move. Then G. Nausėda clarified his proposal. He indicated that the meeting will be held in a cafe, and the residents who come to it will have to pay for the coffee themselves.
The Lithuanian presidential election will be held on May 2024, 12.
