Some politicians belonging to the "Laisvės" party, who worked in the Vilnius city council, raised questions about the funds intended for the council members. According to the news portal Delfi, politicians who worked in the capital's municipality rented a watch and paid for overnight trips for office expenses.
As the portal writes, the Minister of Justice Ewelina Dobrowolska, while serving as a member of the Vilnius City Council, allocated office funds to rent an Apple watch and paid the bills of two telephones. The minister's adviser, delfi.lt, said that the minister used the smart watch as a regular means of communication - for calendar and other reminders, e-mail. to receive letters, messages, calls.
According to E. Dobrowolska's representative, after evaluating the received compensations this spring and not wanting to create visibility or doubts related to them, the minister decided to return this part of the amount compensated by the municipality for the entire period she served as a member of the municipal council to the municipality. Reimbursement - for journeys home from Soho
The funds absorbed by Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius, a member of the Freedom Party, also raised questions. As Delfi writes, the politician used office funds to go home at night or early in the morning from Švitrigaila St. 7 located in the gay club "Soho".
"Regarding that particular place, it is the gathering place of my community and there I work with my constituents, with the people who elect me," TV Raskevičius told delfi.lt about the trips from the Soho club.
When asked about the trips home, which also took place at half past five in the morning, the representative of the "Laisvė" party said that if questions arise in the public space about "some" bills, he will return that money to the municipal budget.
The Delfi publication announces that another "freeman" who worked in the capital's municipality, Vytautas Mitalas, the former vice-mayor of the city of Vilnius, also paid for night trips with clerical funds.
