National Blood Center (NKC), in order to update the resources of the available tools and to prevent possible crisis cases, invites Lithuanian and foreign medical device manufacturers and suppliers selling the devices to submit comments on the technical specification, according to which almost 2 million will be published. international open public procurement worth EUR. During it, special systems of several types of blood bags and other equipment necessary to ensure a smooth blood donation process will be purchased.
According to NKC director Daumantas Gutauskas, in this stressful period we must not only be equipped with all the necessary equipment, but also have a sufficient reserve so that the donation process in Lithuania goes smoothly, and if necessary, we can also help the people of Ukraine, soldiers, and medical colleagues.

Therefore, we invite potential suppliers from Lithuania and foreign countries - manufacturers of medical devices and intermediaries selling devices - not to remain indifferent until April 11. actively provide comments and suggestions for the technical specification. After that, an open international tender will be announced to purchase the necessary equipment for blood donation", says D. Gutauskas.
According to him, when organizing purchases of this scale, it is very important to have as much competition as possible, because only with it can you buy cheaper, and direct the saved money to other activities of the institution, for example, increasing the salaries of employees.
NKC has already handed over some of the necessary tools for blood donation in Ukraine working doctors, responding to the request of Ukrainian colleagues to help.
Thus, during this international public tender, the aim will be to purchase 210 thousand for the use of quadruple blood bag systems with special accessories, 12 automatic blood component separators. It is planned to allocate up to 1 million for the purchase of these goods. 680 thousand euros.
It is also planned to purchase 10 thousand platelets - sets of aggregate bags of leukocyte layers. They are used for the preparation of pools of packed platelets obtained from preserved blood, storage and transfusion of packed platelets. Up to 150 thousand is planned for the purchase of sets of storage bags. euros.
The contract is planned for 3 years. This means that under normal conditions the quantities of the mentioned tools should be enough for such a period, but if the situation changes and more of them are needed, new tenders will be announced to purchase the necessary tools.
