The State Sickness Fund (VLK) announces that it will pay for two new medical aid measures from February 1 of this year.
One such tool is personalized surgical guides for operations on bone oncological patients. These are single-use medical devices designed and manufactured to order for a specific patient.
Applying this method not only facilitates the course of the operation, but also saves the patient's healthy tissues, shortens the duration of the procedure and reduces the risk of complications, and virtual planning before the operation allows more accurate prediction of the results of the procedure.
Another important innovation that will be purchased for medical facilities is automatic threading and cutting devices for surgical sutures and titanium suture retainers. This medical aid is intended for the surgical treatment of heart valve lesions (stenosis, insufficiency, chordal rupture, etc.).
According to doctors, surgical treatment, one of the components of which is the plasticity of heart valves or their prosthetics, completely compensates the patient's lost functions and restores working capacity or greatly reduces or completely eliminates the need for nursing care.
It is predicted that the costs of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund to pay for new medical aid measures for the first year will reach almost 700 thousand. euros. These funds have already been earmarked for 2024. in the budget.
