By order of the Minister of Culture, the name of the Lithuanian Folk Household Museum is changed to the Lithuanian Museum of Ethnography.
"Ministry of Culture and the attitude of the museum staff agreed that the old name no longer corresponds to the values and attitudes of this age, new activities of the museum, which more deeply present the living history and customs of the nation. The new name, which was chosen by the museum staff themselves, is more concise and more precisely describes the content of the museum's expositions, existing collections of museum values and activities," says Vice Minister of Culture Rimantas Mikaitis.
