The Ministry of Culture plans to modernize existing information systems.
According to the Ministry, this is aimed at universal access to digital cultural resources and the provision of quality services.
Proposals for the preparation of feasibility studies for the consolidation and modernization of cultural heritage information systems and integration into other state information systems are awaited.
The Ministry indicated that natural and legal persons can participate in the purchase of the feasibility study.
"The Feasibility Study is the first step towards planned positive changes in the field of cultural heritage accounting, protection and services. Modernizing the cultural heritage register and electronic service systems will aim to ensure smooth accounting of cultural heritage objects, effective protection, provision of operative services and transparency", Deputy Minister of Culture Rimantas Mikaitis told BNS.
According to the ministry, the improvement of information systems, registers, and databases must ensure that data related to cultural heritage values are opened to the public, and the perception of cultural heritage as a common asset and responsibility of society is strengthened.
"Special attention will be paid to the opening and adaptation of the information collected in the register to the needs of different interested groups, and to the development of opportunities to learn about heritage through the introduction of advanced technologies. By creating the conditions to easily learn about the processes of cultural heritage protection and management, it is expected to encourage the public to get involved in them," said the vice minister.
