The Lithuanian Folk Household Museum in Rumšiškės invites you to spend the shortest midsummer night of the year in the museum, surrounded by legends and herbs.
The program, as the festival organizers promise, will intertwine at first sight opposite elements - tradition and modernity, folklore and electronic music, field flowers and colored lasers, light and darkness, fire and water.
The St. John's Day celebration will begin on the mountain in the village of Dzūkija - the participants of the celebration will be invited to feel the transformation of nature by wading through wild flower meadows, climbing domes, getting to know grassy areas, and weaving wreaths. It will be possible to ride a horse-drawn carriage or go horseback riding. Of course, the namesakes - Jonai, Jonės and Janinas - will be welcomed, say the organizers of the celebration. All the traditional fun will be surrounded by live music and voices by the ensembles "Nedėja" and "Aidija".
Later, the celebration will move to the Laying Theater. The performance "Who will tell the story of the dzooks fun" will be shown here. It will also be possible to wade through enchanting atmospheres with music where our old and modern cultures meet. John's Sound Visuals will take place in a secret space - concert, where creators of experimental, atmospheric electronic music inspired by folklore will play: Lina Žilinskaitė, Modestyno, Kūdra.
It is promised to accompany the sun and welcome the night with water and fire - wreaths of flowers will be floated in the Praviena stream, burning wheels will be rolled down the mountain, embers will be lit and the big Joninii fire will be held. And all this will be crowned with loud and fun folk dances.
The celebration will continue throughout the night - after enjoying the music, jumping over the bonfire, wading through the dewy meadows, we will greet the morning sun with the songs of the ensembles "Aidija" and "Lygaudės alumnai", according to the announcement of the Lithuanian Folk Household Museum.
