The companies won the tender announced by the municipality, the contract was signed on September 6, and the investigation will have to be completed within one year.
The organizers of the study will have to find out whether 15 thousand has been built between Palanga road, Tilžė and Klemiškės streets. seats, a UEFA-compliant stadium would be viable, and other alternatives should be provided, with preliminary prices indicated.
In 2013, the stadium construction feasibility study was carried out by the company "National project preparation" - it concluded that Klaipėda a sports complex could be built with 8-10 thousand seats in the stadium, sports and wellness halls, ice hockey arena, cafe.
After some of these objects were already built in the port city during the decade, it was decided to renew the study.
The construction of the stadium is also recommended in the conclusions of the feasibility study prepared by the small community "Begra" in 2020 on behalf of the municipality. It does not detail the location and size of the stadium, but it is noted that it is necessary considering the popularity of the sport in the city - football already surpasses basketball in terms of mass.
