Travel organizer in the Baltic countries "News” interrupts trips to Jordan, which borders Israel, where there is a military conflict. According to the representative of the company, they are planned to be updated next March.
Novaturo representative Miglė Bielinytė told BNS that people intending to go to Jordan are offered to move their trips or "flexibly choose the most convenient for them".
"After assessing all the circumstances regarding the events in Israel and seeing the reduced demand in Jordan, we quickly and decisively made a decision - we optimized the trips to Jordan. We will not operate flights to this direction until the end of February, trips to Jordan are planned for March," M. Bielinytė reported to BNS.
Customers who planned to travel to Jordan between November and the end of February would be "given flexibility," she said.
"We offered to choose a suitable alternative travel option for them. They can move their trip to Jordan to March with no additional change or booking fees. We also give you the opportunity to choose from other travel destinations we offer, taking advantage of certain discounts," said M. Bielinytė.
According to her, all information about the possible options will reach the customers through the agents with whom they coordinated the trip.
Due to the start of hostilities in Israel over the weekend, Novaturas canceled three study tours to Israel planned for October. Scheduled tours from Egypt to Israel have also been cancelled.
Inga Aukštuolytė, head of the Public Relations and Marketing Department of the travel organizer TezTour, told BNS that the company does not organize trips to Jordan and did not plan them.
According to the president of the Lithuanian Chamber of Tourism, Žydrės Gavelienė, Lithuanian travelers have not yet massively canceled their purchased trips to countries adjacent to the conflict, but the situation forces them to ask more often if the trips will take place and how to proceed.
"The fact that there are more calls with questions, how will it be now, what should I do, because I have flights to Morocco, Jordan or Egypt. But there are no such things to transfer previously purchased trips," Ž said to BNS. Gaveliene
According to her, it is still too early to look at the trends in the travel sector that have emerged due to the situation in Israel.
"Everything is still too fresh to make decisions based on what happened five days ago. Everything is clear about Israel, but about the neighboring countries, you need to follow the situation, what will happen. To this day, we do not see a greater risk in other countries than Israel," Ž said to BNS. Gaveliene
"Those people who are worried are now choosing European resorts more," she added.
