The company "Mano aplinka", which manages the capital's territories, informs that a solid amount of household and large-sized waste was collected during the "Darom" campaign held over the weekend in Vilnius. On the 18th, the cleaners on duty at the campaign points dragged almost 300 tires into the trailers.
On Saturday, almost 400 janitors of "My Environment" worked in Vilnius. Some of them usually managed the assigned territories, others were specially on duty at the action points. "Just like every year, it is our duty to take the collected garbage from the points to the waste collection points. This time, residents finished cleaning many places around 15 p.m. We worked and transported waste to landfills until 19 p.m.," said Diana Lubė, head of the Territorial Cleaning Group of "Mano militės".
On Saturday, ten "Mano militsa" vehicles were transporting garbage in the capital: dump trucks, tractors with trailers and tractors with loaders.
According to D. Lubė, traditionally, mainly non-disposable household waste, such as glass, plastic, textiles, has been collected, as well as a large amount of large-sized waste. However, the biggest problem, according to the area managers, remains drivers throwing tires into bushes. "We collected almost 300 tires that were in the city. We hope that most of the people who get rid of them in an uncivilized way have already changed their tires and there won't be many such finds in the capital during the warm season", - Vylėsi D. Lubė. By the way, due to the change in the deposit system, significantly less plastic waste was collected this year.
The specialists of "Mano militsa" intensively transport waste from the capital at the beginning of the week as well. Due to the unfavorable weather, some people did not clean their territories on Saturday, but on Sunday. Therefore, the assigned points of the "Darom" promotion were refilled in some places. Some of the garbage bags are newly stacked and in unexpected areas. As a result, the real amount of waste collected in the capital during the clean-up campaign is not yet clear.
The company's specialists ask residents to be patient - the waste collected after the campaign day will be removed from the city in the coming days. If you notice newly collected and stacked bags, please inform UAB "Mano aplinka" by phone 8 700 55966 or e-mail by post [email protected].
