Saturday evening around 21 p.m. a drunken Citroen driver destroyed road signs at a crosswalk on a busy street and crashed into the wall of a building.
1 The accident took place on Drujas street: at the bend of the street, the car jumped onto the pedestrian crossing island, broke the road signs standing on the island and flew into the wall of the building. It was very lucky that no one was injured in the accident, that the car did not obstruct pedestrians.
A citizen of Belarus was driving a Citroen with Latvian license plates. He was taken to the hospital for examination. Before being taken away, the culprit of the accident blew into the alcohol meter: the man blew 1,87 percent. A Belarusian faces a criminal case just for moderate drunkenness.
