On Friday, March 17, Lithuanian Post will issue a postage stamp "Children's Drawings" designed by Ada Šiaučiulytė. My pet." The face value of the postage stamp is EUR 1,40, the circulation is 20 thousand. pcs
The new postage stamp with a depicted rabbit was created by A. Šiaučiulytė, a thirteen-year-old student of Vilnius Gabija secondary school. She took part in a competition announced by Lithuanian Post in October of last year, where children aged 3-16 were invited to create their own stamp on the theme "My pet".
In this way, Lithuanian Post hoped not only to release children's creativity, but also to stimulate interest in the sometimes exotic-sounding field of philately.
All the drawings of children's stamps submitted to the aforementioned competition were evaluated by the Postage Stamp Publishing Commission, which selected three winners.
The next two winners of the competition are planning to issue stamps with pets in 2024 and 2025.
