Former Vilnius Mayor Artūras Zuokas announced on his social media accounts on Thursday that he will run for mayor of the capital in 2027.
"In the 2027 elections, we will return common sense to Vilnius Municipality. My first commitment is to return the 30-minute ticket after winning the elections. #meraszuokas2027," writes Artūras Zuokas.
Although there are still two years left until the elections, the former mayor of the city is already determined to join the fight. It seems that A. Zuokas already has something to offer the people of Vilnius. The politician also promises to cancel some of the decisions made by the current government. Including the cancellation of the 30-minute ticket.
Artūras Zuokas served as the city mayor twice: in 2000-2007 and 2011-2015. After that, he ran for this position several more times, but lost twice to R. Šimašius, and in 2023 - to V. Benkunskas. Currently, A. Zuokas is a member of the Seimas.
