Vilnius' Lazdynai swimming pool will have its own recreation and wellness area (SPA) by the end of the summer, which will be installed by the construction company Vilmstata. It won a public tender announced by Vilnius Development Company, which is developing the project on behalf of Vilnius City Municipality.
"After the installation of the SPA zone, the Lazdynai swimming pool will become not only a sports but also a relaxation oasis, where Vilnius residents will be able to both physically strengthen and regain strength. The complex will meet the different needs of Vilnius residents and will become a long-term investment, the return of which will be felt by both the Lazdynai community and the entire city," says the Mayor of Vilnius Valdas Benkunskas.
The new wellness area will feature a sauna, Lithuanian and Turkish steam baths. 12 people will be able to sunbathe in them at the same time. 17 people will be able to relax in the adjacent massage pool. For the youngest visitors, a children's pool is planned in the SPA area.
"The selected contractor is expected to install a wellness area next to the sports pool within seven months. Therefore, by the end of the summer, a full package of water infrastructure services will be offered in the Lazdynai basin. This will be a complex project that will not only provide new opportunities for citizens, but will also contribute to the growth and sustainable development of the city's infrastructure," says Laura Joffė, head of the Vilnius Development Company, which is developing the project.
Vacationers will be able to take a shower under the massage showers located near the saunas, relax in the relaxation area on deckchairs, heated benches and chairs at the tables. The spa area is designed according to the principles of universal design.
The renovation works will be carried out in the building of the existing Lazdynai swimming pool, which opened its doors in 2023 and has since been one of the most important swimming sports facilities in Vilnius.
The company "Vilmstata" will install the SPA area for approximately 1,4 million euros including VAT.
