As many as 18 new children's playgrounds will be built in Vilnius (list)

This year, Vilnius plans to install new children's play facilities in various parts of the city. 18 children's playgrounds will be installed taking into account the requests and suggestions of residents, neighborhoods and communities. The municipality will allocate 1,5 million euros for this.

“The municipality maintains more than 700 children's playgrounds throughout the city, this year 18 new play spaces will be added to this list, designed according to the needs of communities. Next year, there are plans for about 20 more. Each playground is an investment in children's safety, quality leisure time and vibrant, strong communities,” says the Mayor of Vilnius Valdas Benkunskas.

The newly installed spaces will feature play equipment for children of various ages – up to 6 years old and from 6 to 12 years old. The playgrounds will feature such equipment as a multifunctional complex, slide, springboard, swing, climbing frame, multifunctional play equipment for the disabled, sandbox, carousel. Hybrid lawns (made of natural and plastic artificial lawn) or safe rubber surfaces will also be installed, ensuring the comfort and safety of children. All equipment is certified, manufactured in the EU and meets EU requirements.

Projects have already been prepared or are being prepared for all planned plots. They are being prepared by UAB Vilniaus vystymo kompanija. The work will be carried out in accordance with signed contracts with contractors.
