April 24 Vilnius University (VU) museum opens St. John's Church bell tower for the summer season. It will be open until the end of October on Mondays to Sundays from 10.00:19.00 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
University of St. The bell tower of St. John's Church is the tallest building in the Old Town of Vilnius (68 m). The belfry observation deck can be reached either by 193 authentic wooden steps or by a modern elevator. The observation deck located at a height of 60 meters offers a wonderful view of the capital city panorama. Last year St. John's bell tower was visited by about 16 thousand people.
Baroque St. The bell tower of John's Church was built 400 years ago. On its first floor, there is an exhibition "Vilnius University and the world." On the second floor, you can see a unique object - Foucault's pendulum, which proves the fact that the Earth rotates around its axis. This is the only Foucault's pendulum in our country. There are 16 such pendulums in Europe.
Visit VU Museum St. John's Church bell tower is available both individually and in groups. Groups of visitors require advance registration. Ticket price for students, schoolchildren and senior citizens - 3 EUR, for adults - 5 EUR. Entrance is free for VU employees.
