In the surface wastewater basin in the Vilkpėdes and Žemeių Panerių district, covering an area of 892 ha, the largest flow of rainwater was generated in the Vilkpėdes-Savanorių collector (the runoff basin here reaches 503 ha).
The pipeline is defined by the coordinates of the origin and the end point, since it does not always run under or next to a particular street. Vilkpėdės-Savanorių collector starts at Vilkpėdės street, crosses Savanorių avenue. and the territory of the Vilnius thermal power plant, until finally, at Eigulių st. 32, reaches Neri.)
The collector, which was expanded and patched many times during the Soviet era, is truly "unique" in the not the best sense of the word. It resembles a quilt: a new 3 m diameter glass fiber pipe is "sewn" to the 2 m high reinforced concrete collector, and behind it - a 50 m section of the pipeline that can be easily overcome, which passes into a yellow brick collector built in a curved year, behind which there are Soviet reinforced concrete structures .
Part of the Vilkpėdė-Savanorių collector is currently being restored (the section of Vilkpėdė street to Savanorių pr.) After carrying out diagnostics of the remaining part of the collector, it was found that the permeability of the collector is sufficient, but the technical condition of the pipeline itself is poor: the reinforced concrete structures are significantly damaged by corrosion and the constant mechanical impact of water . After assessing the damage to the pipeline and the possible methods of reconstruction, it was decided not to re-lay the pipe, but to strengthen the structural part of the existing pipeline. This will be done from the inside using the additional reinforcement and torqueretting method. The length of the collector under repair is 514 m.
In addition, a 2700 l/s capacity oil and sand underground treatment plant with a real-time monitoring system of discharged wastewater will be installed in the "Grinda" production area, at the outlet, which will allow continuous monitoring of the quality of wastewater discharged into Neris.
