Volunteers' motivation, professionalism, love for the Motherland is our most powerful weapon", emphasizes the importance of volunteer service, approaching the 26th anniversary of the establishment of the National Defense Volunteer Forces on January 17, the Commander of the National Defense Volunteer Forces, Colonel Arturas Jasinskas.
January 17 commemorating the 26th anniversary of the establishment of the National Defense Volunteer Forces (KASP), the public will be able to participate not only in official ceremonies, but also to see volunteers working together, studying or engaged in other normal daily activities.
A new tradition is announced on the day of the establishment of the volunteer forces - a day with a uniform. Warriors volunteers who usually wear military uniforms only when participating in exercises, usually on weekends, but on January 17th they will look military even when they are not on duty: they will wear it to work, to lectures, to spend their free time, etc.
By participating in this initiative, soldiers of KASP units located throughout Lithuania aim to strengthen the relationship between soldiers and the public, and to spread the word about the Volunteer Forces.
"We invite the people of Lithuania, upon meeting a volunteer soldier wearing a uniform on January 17, to thank him for his service, shake his hand and congratulate him on the foundation day of the National Defense Volunteer Forces," urges KASP chief non-commissioned officer Sergeant Major Darius Masiulis.
26th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Volunteer Forces events will start at 10 a.m. St. Mass Lithuanian army crew St. Ignatius Church in Vilnius. Later, at 12 p.m. A ceremonial line-up of soldiers will take place on Independence Square, during which the Volunteer Forces will be presented with a newly sewn combat flag. The best volunteer company will also be awarded, the creators of the army, volunteer soldiers and their employers will be honored.
Minister of National Defense Raimundas Karoblis, Speaker of the Seimas Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Supreme Council - Restorative Seimas Vytautas Landsbergis, as well as the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Major General Vitalijus Vaikšnoras, Commander of the National Defense Volunteer Forces Colonel Arturas Jasinskas and others will welcome the volunteers at Independence Square.
After the ceremonial line-up, the commemorative events will move to the Vilnius crew officers' barracks, an exhibition of authentic State symbols, KASP/SKAT signs, posters, photographs and other works, collected from various Lithuanian volunteer companies, will be opened.
The annual cooperation plan of Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian volunteer forces will be signed in Ramovė, providing for joint participation of soldiers in combat training, activities and sports events.
