A week ago in Vilnius, the French artist Saype presented his new work, which he used to decorate Gediminas Hill - here, on the slope, Vilnius residents and city guests saw the mural "Despite the Walls". The clasped hands depicted in the work proclaim the idea of the unity of people and states. We decided to ask Vilnius residents what they think about this work.
A large majority of respondents say they like the new mural very much. 52 percent answered yes. of Vilnius (528 votes). 18% say that it is beautiful, but maybe the wrong place was chosen. people (187 votes).
"I like it," people comment briefly.
However, there were also voices of dissatisfaction, according to which this mural is nonsense. 24% answered yes. of respondents (241 votes). The question turned out to be irrelevant for 6 percent. people (64 votes).
"Excuse me. It reminds me of a Soviet-era idea. Although it can symbolize many different things," the residents write.
The MadeinVilnius.lt survey took place from Monday, September 16 to Friday, September 20. A total of 1020 people participated in the survey.
Vilnius is the 21st city in the symbolic chain of cities formed by Saype with his works. His first gigantic work of 2019. lay down in Paris, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
