According to the National Museum of Lithuania, the state of Mount Gediminas is currently stable, the sensors do not record significant shifts.
“All the soil that has come off has been removed and drainage pipes have been laid in the area of the landslide. On top of the poured crushed stone, a soil-strengthening net was additionally laid," the museum reports.
It is noted that these are only short-term measures. According to the museum, the preliminary contract for the first phase of the long-term renovation project was signed in May. at the beginning, but the contract work cannot start until the necessary funding is available.
The issue of financing is currently being resolved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
