Last year, the Lithuanian Museum of Fine Arts started renovation work on the southern part of the Radvilai Palace. The renovated Radvilai Palace promises to open its doors to visitors already in the middle of this year.
"In the former southern building of the Radvilai Palace (near Liejyklos Street), after the reconstruction and adaptation of the spaces to the needs of the museum, an exhibition of European art will be opened - valuable works from the XNUMXth to the XNUMXth centuries will be exhibited. Artworks created by European artists are stored in the collections of the Lithuanian National Art Museum. This exposition will be located on the second floor of the building. On the first floor of the building, the doors will be opened by the national art recognition center" - says Remigijus Černius, head of the Radvilai Palace Art Museum of LNDM.
On the first floor of the building, educational activities will be held for students of various ages, families, seniors and people with disabilities. There will be an informational social terminal where you can get information about the permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions, and read literature. Also, various cultures will be organized on the first floor events.
"The third floor of the building will be equipped with a multifunctional event and exhibition hall. This hall covers the entire third floor of the building. It was installed in 1912, when the building was purchased and reconstructed by Tevelis Krengelis", says R. Černius.
In the past, this hall was used for exhibitions, public lectures, and concerts. After the renovation, it is planned to host national and international exhibitions, international and national conferences, and seminars.
Also, the Radvil Palace Museum invites everyone to the first post-reconstruction exhibition "Protest Art" from the collection of Vladimir Tarasov donated to the Lithuanian Art Museum. Event will take place from October 8.
