The mobile yards built a few years ago on Naugarduk Street are being renovated and will be moved to other parts of the city. Two courtyards will be built on the territory of the Šeškinė public and shopping center, two on Lviv Street and two on Panerių Street, next to the former "Lelijos" factory. Performed its function
"The purpose of the temporary courtyards was to revive a certain public space of the city, to become heralds of change and to travel to another place. On Naugardukas Street, these mobile platforms have already fulfilled their function: the central Naujamiestis Street is more and more like a cozy public space of the neighborhood, the tradition of the Sunday market has taken hold, when the traffic between Švitrigailos and Vytenios Streets is closed in the morning until noon and farmers' produce is sold there," he said. Two courtyards will be built in the territory of the Šeškinė public and shopping center. After meetings with residents, a vision for revitalizing the Šeškinė public and shopping center was prepared. Residents want the center of Šeškinė to develop as the soul and heart of the district, where small businesses live, community ties are forged and people want to stop for a cup of coffee. Changes are planned not only in public, but also in private spaces: the underpass, the market, pedestrian paths, and the buildings and plots of the Šeškina shopping center.
Two yards will appear in Šnipiškės. One will be located at the end of Giedraičiau Street near the back of the Europa shopping center, where there are entrances to the garages. This is one of the measures to encourage changes in the streets of Lviv and Kraków. A vibrant network of public spaces and connecting streets is being created on the rapidly changing right bank of the Neris.
Changes to these streets were discussed with residents who see these streets more as public spaces than just transit. A detailed plan of this area is currently being prepared. In the near future, another public presentation is planned, during which residents will be able to familiarize themselves with the changes in the streets of Lviv and Kraków.
