This week, the representative places of the capital welcomed re-bloomed flower beds. The company "Mano aplinka", which takes care of the city's public spaces, has already planted 9 multi-colored orphan saplings. This year Vilnius city municipalities by order of the city, yellow, wine red, purple and blue flowers were chosen in many places. The gardeners were instructed not only to water and weed the flowers, but also to protect them - every year some of the new seedlings are stolen by thieves.
Last weekend, flower beds were planted with orphan seedlings in Europa Square, Gediminas Avenue, V. Kudirka Square, Vrublevskios St., Tilto St., Aušros Vartų St., Pilies St., Vilniaus St. and Liejyklos St. in the square, on the banks of the King's Mindaugas Bridge, the Green Bridge and the Odminai Bridge. Work is expected to continue in Lviv Square on Wednesday. "We chose the weekend for the work so as not to disturb the traffic and the movement of people. In addition, we wanted to surprise the people of Vilnius - we hope that they noticed the renovated flower beds," said Diana Lubė, Head of the Territorial Cleaning Group of "Mano militės".
The need for spring flowers - quantity and colors - is indicated by the representatives of the Vilnius city municipality. According to D. Lubė, it was not difficult to fulfill this year's wishes.
Part of the preparatory work for spring was done last year. In autumn, "Mano aplinka" planted about 5 tulip and daffodil seedlings in the Green Bridge transport ring, another 000 seedlings were planted in the Dutch ring together with the Dutch Embassy in Lithuania.
"We will make every effort to ensure that spring flowers bloom for a long time, but annual practice shows that problems cannot be avoided. In the spring, some of the seedlings disappear from the more remote flower beds and flower beds. Unfortunately, it is not vandals. Saplings are stolen for personal purposes, often before Mother's Day or to decorate private gardens", said D. Lubė, wondering about the unpleasant trend. According to her, the janitors have repeatedly had to discipline people who stole flowers. As a result, citizens are also asked to pay attention - if you notice flower thieves secretly digging flowers, inform the representatives of the "Mano militas" company Facebook page.
