An emergency situation is a situation that occurs due to natural, technical, ecological or social reasons or military actions and leads to a danger to human life, health, property, nature, etc.
Emergency situations can arise in our daily work and living environment. Often these disasters happen unexpectedly, and not infrequently they catch us unprepared. Fires, floods, strong winds, various technical accidents, mudslides, chemical spills, radiological accidents, explosions, riots, influx of migrants, armed conflicts and other disasters can cause emergency situations that may require us to temporarily move to other, unusual for us, residential premises - COLLECTIVE PROTECTION BUILDING.
What is a collective defense structure?
It is a building intended for the temporary shelter of the population, protecting the population from the harmful effects of the environment and providing protection during emergency situations or war.
Such buildings are often schools, gymnasiums, cultural centers, sports halls or underground parking lots.
During emergency situations, these buildings can be temporarily and quickly adapted to protect residents from life- or health-threatening factors.
What is the difference between a collective security structure and a shelter?
Collective security buildings are often confused with shelters. Hideouts are special purpose structures or rooms specially equipped and protected from external harmful effects.
Remember that a home can also be a structure of collective protection. This is one option for those who have nowhere to go in an emergency.
Where are collective protection structures installed?
Collective protection structures are selected and installed in buildings that are normally used for various public needs. Most often, such buildings are: schools, gymnasiums, cultural centers, sports halls, underground parking lots, etc.
Collective protection structures are marked with a special sign. It is an equilateral blue triangle on an orange background square defined by a blue border. This sign on the building means that this building is selected as a possible building for collective protection and will be quickly adapted for temporary shelter of residents if needed.
