An initiative of hygiene stations for girls was successfully launched at the Nemenčinė Gediminas and Konstantas Parčevskis gymnasiums, designed to ensure proper intimate hygiene conditions for students and help girls feel safer and more comfortable.
Hygiene stations for girls – special boxes with free hygiene products for use during menstruation are installed in the toilet facilities. Each station has: a Ladybox intimate hygiene product dispenser with high-quality products approved by dermatologists and gynecologists; a Ladycare system for collecting used packages, which does not emit any odor due to the antibacterial granules used in them.
Vilnius district gymnasiums have become one of the few schools in Lithuania to have implemented this innovation. According to contracts valid until the end of the year, each gymnasium now has 2 sets of hygiene stations. After assessing the positive impact of this pilot project and the need, it is planned to equip the toilets of all gymnasiums in the Vilnius district with hygiene stations for girls from September.
The municipality supports this initiative, which aims not only to create a more caring school environment, but also to provide real assistance to those schoolgirls whose families find it difficult to provide the necessary intimate hygiene products. It is believed that this initiative may also have a positive impact on student attendance.
