Vilnius district The long-awaited reconstruction of Nesvyžiaus Street in the village of Bukiškis has entered an active phase. Intensive road construction work is underway. In order to assess the progress of the project and ensure the quality of the work, the Director of the Vilnius District Municipality Administration, Vytautas Vansavičius, also inspected the ongoing work.
The project will include not only the renovation of the street itself, but also the transformation of the four-way intersection of Bičiulių g. - Mėtų g. - Šaulio g. - Nesvyžiaus g. into a roundabout.
"Yesterday I inspected the ongoing works. It is gratifying that everything is going smoothly and changes are already visible. Currently, the works are focused on the installation of underground networks and a roundabout. It is planned that the intersection will be installed in early autumn. Based on the pace and progress of the work demonstrated by the contractors, we can predict the successful completion of the reconstruction of Nesvyžiaus Street on schedule, i.e. by the end of this year," says Vytautas Vansavičius, Director of the Vilnius District Municipality Administration.
It is expected that the reconstruction of Nesvyžiaus Street carried out by the Municipality and the ongoing works on the Tarandė Tunnel will contribute to reducing congestion at the Bukiškis Viaduct in the near future - transport flows will be distributed along alternative routes.
During the reconstruction, new asphalt will be laid to improve driving comfort, pedestrian paths will be installed, and street lighting will be updated. A rainwater collection system will be installed to protect the streets from possible flooding.
During road construction work Vilnius District Municipality is successfully cooperating with Vilnius Automechanics and Business School - the school's plot is temporarily used for street reconstruction works. This partnership allows the work to be carried out more efficiently, with less inconvenience to local residents, and the municipality will also be able to save up to 300 thousand euros, since the soil will not need to be removed from the territory during the works, it will be spread on the plot.
The Vilnius District Municipality Administration thanks residents and drivers for their understanding and patience and invites them to wait together for changes that will undoubtedly contribute to a more comfortable and safer life in Bukiškis and communication with the capital.
