A modern swimming pool with a SPA area will be built in Lentvaris, Trakai district - construction is planned to begin in the second half of 2026 and it will be opened to the public at the end of 2028.
According to the Trakai District Municipality, the new complex will allow professionals to train, swim, and relax for anyone who wants to.
"It is extremely important for the Trakai district to have a place where everyone – from children to seniors – can play sports and spend their time actively," said district mayor Andrius Šatevičius in a statement.
According to him, Lentvaris was chosen for the pool because the settlement is growing, residential neighborhoods are expanding here, and businesses are being established.
The pool is planned to feature six 25-meter swimming lanes, a SPA area with saunas, two gyms with exercise machines, and a space for group activities.
The Trakai District Municipality Administration informed BNS that the pool will be designed by the company "Project Development Center".
The complex will be built next to Motiejus Šimelionis Gymnasium and the Lentvaris Cultural Center, near Lake Bevardžius and the Family Park, and nearby is the restored Palace of Counts Tiškevičius.
The construction will be financed solely by Trakai Municipality funds, but the amount of funds required will become clear after the technical project is prepared.
Lentvaris is approximately 10 kilometers from Trakai, and about 21 kilometers from Vilnius Old Town.
