On June 1, International Children's Day, an extraordinary celebration visited Lentvaris primary school. An original sports hall was opened that day, which is already the envy of the children of Lithuania.
The hall was built according to the exclusive project of the architect Lauryns Ivinskis, specifically adapted for the little residents of Lentvari. It is decorated with unusual round windows, through which the wonderful greenery of the trees pours. It can be said that pictures of living nature look out of the windows. Modern solutions and technologies were used in the construction of the hall.
The opening of the hall was attended by the mayor of the district municipality Andrius Šatevičius, deputy mayor Jonas Kietavičius, director of the municipal administration Jolanta Abucevičienė, deputy director Dovilė Daudaitė, assistant of Seimas member Edita Rudelienė Inesa Židonytė, Aušrinė Lukošiūtė-Aleksandravičienė, the school community. All to school students a concert, and then - school director Ona Ramanauskienė invited her to the new hall.
At the opening of the hall, the architect L. Ivinskis was happy that the administration of the district municipality did not come up with unusual design solutions, and therefore the hall is unique, unlike the simplest warehouse. It is perfectly adapted not only for sports. There is even a library, reading room, offices on the second floor. The hall is connected to the school building through a glass corridor. The children, their parents, and teachers were congratulated by the mayor of the district municipality A. Šatevičius, other heads of the municipality, I. Židonytė, assistant to the member of the Seimas Edita Rudelienė, representatives of the school community.
"The Lentvaris elementary gym is a long-awaited and important project for the entire Lentvaris community. The hall will be able to be used not only for formal education, but also the variety of non-formal education will increase. It is important for us to meet the expectations of both schoolchildren and parents, and to increase the quality of the services provided. We are happy that our young residents can already enjoy a great modern hall", said the mayor of the district municipality, A. Šatevičius.
The construction works of the hall were carried out by the company "Auksta", their value is about 1 million. euros, built solely with the funds of the district municipality budget.
