In the spring, the construction works for the reconstruction of the Rudamina market place began. The reconstruction project of the market is planned to be completed in the time stipulated in the project, ie by 2023. III quarter so soon the modernized Rudamina market square will become a center of attraction for visitors and businessmen.
The reconstruction of the market in Rudamina is one of the activities that is implemented together with the municipality of Šalčininkai district in accordance with priority 2014 "Encouragement of energy efficiency and energy production and use of renewable resources", priority 2020 "High-quality employment and participatory work" of the 4-7 European Union funds investment action program promotion in the market", joint measure no. J8-CPVA-V "Development of functional areas".
It is estimated that the cost of the project will reach 1,7 million. Eur. Vilnius district the municipality will allocate 0,6 million for this project. EUR, European Union and state budget funds will amount to 1,1 million. Eur.
After the implementation of the project, the market place of Rudamina will not only become more convenient for market visitors and merchants, without a doubt, the renewed market will also impress with its modern environment and developed public infrastructure. "Rudamina market has fascinated buyers and traders for many years with its concept and wide and varied assortment of goods, so we are glad that by initiating this project, we found a number of solutions that will turn Rudamina market into a center of attraction for visitors and entrepreneurs." The contract work is already underway, so it is planned that already in 2023. we will be able to present this project to the public", Ana Matveiko, Deputy Head of the Investment Department of the Vilnius District Municipality Administration, comments on the implementation of the project.
According to A. Matveik, the implementation of the project is being carried out on time and currently the renovation of the administration building on the territory of the market is already being completed. "Major repair works are being carried out in the existing pavilion building. The internal premises are being re-planned with the intention of installing an administration and veterinary control cabinet and other auxiliary premises", says A. Matveiko.
After the implementation of the Rudamina market reconstruction project, the territory of the market will be expanded by modernizing all existing functional trade areas according to the range of goods. In total, the territory of the Rudamina market place will be divided into 7 trade zones, where conditions will be created for trading food and non-food goods, various seedlings and plants, agricultural machinery and products, farm animals and poultry.
The renewed market will be equipped with stationary pavilions and canopies with stalls. 238 trading places are planned, including 12 pavilions, where trading will take place continuously, regardless of the market's working hours. Places are also provided for trading from cars.
In order to promote the employment and involvement of disabled people in the labor market, the project also envisages the establishment of several wider sales points for disabled traders. In addition, the sidewalks will also be wheelchair accessible.
The renovated market will also delight with convenient, beautiful public infrastructure. It is planned that pedestrian paths will be installed for the convenience of all visitors, the area of the market will be paved with concrete pavers, and the current worn-out fence of the market will be replaced by a new high fence with a lockable gate.
Lighting, benches, bicycle racks, trash cans, drinking water dispensers, video surveillance systems, etc. are planned to be installed in the square and its approaches.
Access to the territory of the marketplace will be facilitated by equipped and paved entrances. In order to solve the problem of lack of parking spaces, passenger cars will be installed parking lots for customers and merchants, where they will be able to safely leave cars and trucks, minibuses. It is planned that the parking lot will have about 150 spaces, which will also facilitate movement and safety on the main street near the market place.
