Vilnius district Konstantas Parčevskis Gymnasium in Nemenčina is awaiting exciting changes - the gymnasium will become much bigger and cozier. All the buildings belonging to the gymnasium will be connected to the main building by above-ground galleries, and the construction of a new extension has started, which will house event, music and art halls.
The Konstant Parčevskis Gymnasium in Nemenčina gradually became more beautiful. in 2017 a sports field was installed, in 2019 the main gymnasium building was renovated, and other buildings belonging to the gymnasium were also renovated. The old school building has already been modernized and connected to the main gymnasium building by above-ground galleries. The canteen is currently being connected to other buildings of the gymnasium. A new music school building is also currently under construction.
The event hall will accommodate 395 spectators and new music and art facilities
Construction works are currently underway on a new extension, which will include an event hall with auxiliary, service and visitor facilities, as well as art and music facilities and changing rooms. This building, like the others, will also be connected to the main gymnasium building and the entire building complex will be accessible from the inside. All room groups, due to their different functional purpose, will have separate entrances/exits and will be physically separate.
The gymnasium community is happy that it will finally have a new assembly hall that can accommodate as many as 395 spectators. Currently, the gymnasium does not have an attractive and functional hall for school community events, concerts and celebrations. During larger events, you have to look for other premises outside the school area.
The new building will also include facilities for an art and music school. On the first floor, there will be a teacher's room, on the second - school administration rooms (principal's and secretary's offices, archive), a choir studio, an art studio, three piano classrooms and sanitary units. On the third floor, a solfeggio class, sanitary units, two wind classes, two violin classes and two accordion classes are planned.
The new and modern event hall will be available to both the Nemenčinė Konstant Parčevskis Gymnasium and the Nemenčinė Music School.
The new building will also include more changing rooms. The gymnasium has a sports field, but there are not enough changing rooms for the existing students. Therefore, in the new building under construction, it is planned to equip more changing rooms for students and teachers, from which it will be possible to easily and comfortably enter the field.
The new building will be adapted for people with disabilities. The building has two elevators adapted for people with disabilities and allowing easy access to the rooms on the second and third floors. Wide corridors and galleries are also being designed. In the building, four sanitary units are planned to be adapted for people with disabilities. Adequate pavement slopes are formed outside to allow people with wheelchairs to easily enter the building.
More places to rest
A new 3-storey building with glass panels is being designed in the inner part of the gymnasium plot. The new building and the existing central building of the gymnasium will form a semi-closed, cozy interior space between the buildings, which will be adapted for recreation and various outdoor events. The building also plans to have an open courtyard, which will be on the roof of the canteen. A terrace will be installed here, botany, crop production and other lessons will be available.
41 parking spaces are also planned on the territory of the gymnasium.
