in 2022 Construction work on the reconstruction of the Rudamina market place, which started in the spring, is being rapidly continued. The project is planned to be completed by 2024. of July, so the soon-to-be renewed market will delight both visitors and merchants with its developed public infrastructure and modern marketplace environment.
"After an unplanned break, we are back with the reconstruction works of the Rudamina market place. And although the municipality started with this project back in 2021, due to the prolonged ESO network laying works and the need to re-plan the project due to the removal of rainwater, the reconstruction of the market was stopped for a while," he says about the implemented project. Vilnius district director of municipal administration Vladislav Kondratovič.
According to the director of administration who visited the construction site last week, all works are planned to be completed by 2024. July.
"For some time now, those passing by the marketplace have been able to observe the actively continuing works. The equipment works intensively every day, leveling and preparing the soil for laying the concrete pavers. At the moment, capital repair works are already being completed in the administration building located on the territory of the market", emphasized V. Kondratovič.
It is estimated that the price of the works will reach 1,8 million. Eur. Vilnius District Municipality 0,7 million will be allocated to this project. EUR, European Union and state budget funds will amount to 1,1 million. Eur.
The reconstruction of the market in Rudamina is one of the activities envisaged in the project no. J08-CPVA-V-01-0001 "Implementation of the Šalčininkai+ functional area development strategy", which is being implemented together with the Šalčininkai district municipality in accordance with priority 2014 of the 2020-4 European Union funds investment action program "Promotion of energy efficiency and energy production and use of renewable resources" ", priority 7 "Promoting quality employment and participation in the labor market", priority 8 "Increasing social inclusion and fighting poverty" and priority 10 "Advantageous public management that meets the needs of society" joint measure no. J08-CPVA-V "Development of functional areas".
After the implementation of the Rudamina market reconstruction project, the territory of the market will be expanded. It is planned to install outdoor pavilions and canopies with stalls at the market place, arrange the infrastructure, and set up several wider sales points for traders with disabilities. Cars will be equipped parking lots for customers and merchants, where they will be able to safely leave cars and trucks, minibuses. There are also places for sales from cars.
In total, the territory of the Rudamina market place will be divided into 7 trade zones, where conditions will be created for trading food and non-food goods, various seedlings and plants, agricultural machinery and products, farm animals and poultry.
Lighting, benches, bicycle racks, trash cans, drinking water dispensers, video surveillance systems, etc. are planned to be installed in the square and its approaches.
The project is financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
