As part of the reconstruction and modernization project of Trakai Gymnasium, the value of which is almost 5,5 million euros, a modern multifunctional sports hall was officially opened next to the educational institution - the first sports space of its kind in the city. For the convenience of spectators, 350-seat stands have been installed here. So far, not only Trakai, but the entire Trakai district did not yet have a universally adapted sports infrastructure.
"This is a significant step in the development of our city's sports infrastructure. The new building will not only provide better conditions for students to play sports, but will also become a center of attraction for the entire community - various training sessions, competitions and cultural events will be held here." events", - says Andrius Šatevičius, Mayor of Trakai District Municipality, delighted with the new facility.
The gym is designed to meet the needs of various sports - basketball, volleyball, handball, tennis and indoor football can be played here. In addition, the hall is adapted for the disabled - there are elevators, ramps and special sanitary facilities.
The new facility will not be limited to sports activities alone – it will host various physical activity programs, training sessions, competitions, and community events. The aim is to encourage residents to spend their free time more actively and cultivate a healthy lifestyle.
When building the multifunctional sports hall, the aim was to preserve as much vegetation and natural terrain as possible. Currently, there are plans to plant more evergreen trees and plants along the shores of Lake Luka.
The value of the gymnasium reconstruction and hall construction project amounts to almost 5,5 million euros, and the funds were allocated from the Trakai district municipality budget. The project's goal is to improve educational conditions and create an attractive environment for both students and the city community.
