Turto Bankas understands and appreciates the concerns of Lithuanian law enforcement officials regarding the future of the rehabilitation center and is committed to ensuring that the project is successfully completed.
After signing a contract with the company Daistatus last year, the Turto bankas project, located in in Trakai, Karaimų g. 73A, is scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2026. The contractor is tasked not only with successfully completing the project, but also with eliminating the defects caused by the previous contractor, which is currently the subject of legal proceedings.
In November last year, a contract worth almost 7,4 million euros was signed with the company "Daistatus", which offered the lowest price in the public procurement. At that time, 5 companies participated in the public procurement, and the company that offered the lowest price was declared the winner. Since circumstances may still arise during the implementation of the project that the contracting authority could not foresee, the maximum approved value of the project is higher.
Today, the total value of contracts concluded for the implementation of the project reaches 9,3 million euros.
At the end of 2016, Turto Bankas signed an agreement on the renovation of state real estate with the Department of Property Management and Economy under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania and the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania. It was agreed to renovate the facility located in Trakai, Karaimų g. 73A, meeting the client's expectations and creating a modern rehabilitation center for officers.
In March 2021, a contract worth almost 5,9 million euros was concluded with Vilungės statyba, which offered the lowest price during the public procurement. In November 2023, after assessing significant deviations from the project, the contract with this contractor was unilaterally terminated.
In accordance with the Law on Public Procurement of the Republic of Lithuania, Turto bankas has included the company "Vilungės statyba" in the "list of unreliable suppliers". The former project contractor appealed Turto bankas' decisions, which is currently the subject of a legal process that has no real impact on the outcome of the project, i.e. the project will continue according to plan and the planned completion date remains unchanged.
In order to compensate the state for the losses incurred, Turto Bankas also applied to the insurance company of the former contractor, which issued the contract performance guarantee document, for the payment of the insurance benefit specified in the contract. In this case, the specified amount of the benefit constitutes 10 percent. of the contract price. It is expected that the insurance company will make a decision on the payment of the benefit after the court announces its verdict in the civil case. To the knowledge of Turto Bankas, the court's decision could be announced in the first weeks of May.
