JAV President Donald Trump says he is considering going to Istanbul, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin could meet. "I don't know where I'll be on Thursday. I have so many meetings. But I was considering actually flying there," he told reporters at the White House.
Trump said he had been pushing for the meeting and thought "good things could come out of it."
Ukraine weekend together with Germany, France, Great Britain and Poland proposed declaring an unconditional 12-day ceasefire from May 30.
Putin then stated that he was ready for direct talks with Ukraine without preconditions on May 15 in Istanbul. However, the Kremlin leader did not mention a single word about a ceasefire.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on Putin's statement, announced: "I will be waiting for Putin in Turkey on Thursday. Personally."
