This week, 6 more schools are opening their doors in Vilnius, to which primary school children will return safely to study in the contact method - through cumulative testing. Classes will start from Monday or Tuesday in 4 private schools - Vilnius Jesuit High School, children's art studio "Diemedis", Northern Lyceum, Queen Martha's School and 2 municipal schools - St. Kristoforos pro-gymnasium and Šeškinė primary school. In preparation for the opening of these schools, 1079 stockpiles were examined.
It is planned that approximately 1000 students will return to these schools, so a total of 19 schools will be opened for contact education in Vilnius per month, monitoring the COVID-10 situation through periodic testing. Last week alone, the Vilnius Public Health Office "Vilnius svieviau" tested the farms of 1528 students and school employees' families.
Pupils whose family farm savings results were negative can immediately study by contact method. If at least one test in the pool is positive, the whole family is invited to take a PCR test, and if the test confirms that at least one of the family members has COVID-19, the whole family is subject to the isolation rules approved by the Ministry of Health.
After returning to school, elementary school children are re-tested after 4-7 days in a cumulative way, only this time - in the school itself. During re-testing, households of students' families are no longer tested, tests are performed only for children attending school, teachers and school staff who have contact with them.
On February 22, Vilnius was the first in the country to open a school for contact education.
