From September 1, students will return to classes, but schools will have to ensure as little contact as possible between them, change lesson schedules, ensure ventilation and disinfection of premises.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports prepared recommendations for institutions on how to organize education in schools.
"The main principle in organizing education is to manage student flows in order to reduce contact between students studying in different classes," says Jolanta Urbanovič, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sports.
Both in kindergartens and schools, persons accompanying children, as well as parents participating in school events, when the distance of two meters is not maintained, will have to wear masks. Exceptions apply only to disabled persons who cannot do so, and if the protective equipment covering the nose and mouth cannot be worn by the teacher, others may be selected for him.
This year, schools have been instructed to designate one specific class for students, where all classes will be held, except for technology and natural science subjects. Peers should also study in adjacent classes, avoiding contact between students of different ages.
In order to achieve this, it is recommended to start classes at different times for students of different classes, and schools must also prepare a map of student movement directions in the school premises. If the school has the possibility, it is necessary to provide for several entrances, several different exits and the road that is the closest to the place of learning.
It is recommended to organize two lessons of the same subject in a row, and to allocate a longer time for the lunch break. If the conditions are right, it is advisable to teach some subjects outdoors. Educational and learning support will be provided to students, and consultations can be organized remotely.
After each lesson, it is necessary to ventilate specialized classrooms and sports halls, as well as disinfect learning equipment or tools used by students in common.
Innovations are also waiting for the catering procedure - from September, it will be allowed to eat in classrooms, with food served in disposable dishes, or in the school canteen, if separate spaces are allocated for students of different classes.
Only students of the same class and students of neighboring classes who use the common space of the corridor should have lunch together in the canteen. Adequate conditions for the hand hygiene of employees and students must be ensured in the school canteen: warm and cold water is provided in the washrooms, liquid soap and disposable hand wipes are served at the washrooms.
Students arriving on school buses will have to sit at a safe distance from each other and from the driver, and all must wear masks, except in cases where this cannot be done due to a medical condition.
Bus handles, seat backs and other frequently touched surfaces must be disinfected every time before boarding the next group of transported students.
Children's non-formal education will also have to take place in accordance with the principle of group isolation.iemones.
Upon receiving information about a case of coronavirus at the school, the principal will have to inform the National Center for Public Health, and work at the school will continue remotely. At least half of the time will have to be devoted to direct distance lessons, the remaining time must be devoted to independent work, leaving the possibility of communication by e-mail.
The duration of so-called synchronous lessons, when everyone works together remotely, cannot exceed two hours.
