The organizers of the ratings point out that when evaluating second-cycle (master's) training, it is important to know not only what Lithuanian employers think (they were also surveyed by the sociological research company "Prime consulting"; the employers' opinion was given 30% of the weight of the entire subject-wise master's training rating), not only what there are graduate employability data and received salaries (they are also presented based on STRATA data and these parameters are also given a 10-point ranking weight), but it is even more important to draw the attention of applicants to the academic level of each specific university in a specific field.
In assessing the scientific quality of universities, the results of the scientific activity of universities in 2018 and 2019, conducted by the Lithuanian Science Council (LMT), were used. formal assessment. The weighted sum of points for the formal assessment of the works of each scientific direction of each university was analyzed.
It is noted that the criterion of scientificity shows which university researchers and in which directions develop strong science and perhaps even commercialize it, that is, create innovations and sell them to business, and which university researchers simply give theoretical lectures. A weightage of 30 points was given to the scientificity of the universities.
Another criterion for the subject evaluation of university masters is how much each university has or does not have doctoral rights in each direction and how many state-funded doctoral places it has received. In other words, does the university alone or with partners have the potential to train not only master's students, but also doctoral students or not.
