The municipality of the capital invites parents whose children study in Vilnius to apply for social support for students.
Support is provided:
- free lunches, free meals during the summer holidays at day summer recreation camps organized by schools and support for the purchase of student supplies, if the average monthly income for one of the persons living together or for one person living alone is less than 1,5 VRP (183 EUR);
- free breakfast, if the average monthly income of one of the persons living together or one person living alone is less than 1,2 VRP (146,40 EUR) and, upon the recommendation of a social worker, in the following cases:
- when the student experiences social risk or the student is raised by persons living together who experience social risk;
- the parents (one of the parents) or the student for whom the application is made have a disability;
- there are 3 or more children in the family;
- in the event of a fire causing damage to the property and health of persons living together.
Taking into account the living conditions of those living together or one person living together - when the student grows up with one parent, three or more children grow up, the parents (one of the parents) or the student for whom the application is made have a disability, in the event of a fire that damaged the property of the people living together , health, the student experiences social risk or the student is raised by persons living together who experience social risk, students have the right to free lunches and free meals during the summer holidays in day summer recreation camps organized in schools, if the average income of one of the persons living together or one person living in per month is less than 2 VRP (244 Eur) amounts.
When applying, it is necessary to submit a document confirming personal identity, income certificates (for all income-earning cohabitants or one resident for the last 3 months before the month of application or the month of application), other necessary documents depending on the circumstances.
If, during the application for social support, students receive monetary social support, a free form application is submitted and certificates of income do not need to be submitted.
For social support for students, individuals can apply to the Social Work Department of the Vilnius City Social Support Center (link to contacts: http://www.spcentras.lt/Struktura-ir-kontaktai-681.html#7).
In order to receive support, individuals must apply according to the declared place of residence, and if the place of residence is not declared or does not match the actual place of residence in the city of Vilnius - according to the actual place of residence, to the employees of the Social Work Department serving the residents of the old townships. Applications can also be submitted electronically through the information system at www.spis.lt.
You can apply for free meals from July 1. in the course of the entire academic year, due to support for student supplies - until October 5.
In 2017, 2732 requests for social support for students were accepted:
- free meals for 3936 children (including free breakfast for 551 children);
- support for the purchase of school supplies was allocated to 3204 children (for EUR 182628,00).
As of August 2018, 618 requests have been accepted:
- free meals for 980 students (including free breakfast for 365 students);
- support for the purchase of school supplies was allocated to 965 students (EUR 57 per student).
Comparing the 2016 and 2017 academic years, the number of applications decreased by 2017 percent in 7.
