The largest organizer of clubs for children and youth in the country - the Capital City Children and Youth Center is renewing itself, changing its name - becoming "Hobby Universe" or universe of hobbies/activities.
The new name of the center fun and aptly describes what children, youth and adults actually do here. There are more stars in the activity center than in the universe: about 100 different visual arts, dance, vocal, theater, swimming, tennis, and martial arts programs - for children, youth, and adults of all abilities. In this variety, everyone finds an activity they like and the conditions to immerse themselves in it, try, communicate, discover and create their own history of development and friendship.
From now on, non-formal educational activities will take place not only on Konstitucijos Ave. 25 - "Hobiverse" educations will reach the most diverse organizations in the capital. Vilma Smaliukienė, director of the center, says that "The center aims to become a more open, flexible organization that gathers and nurtures people of different abilities and promotes community. We want to contribute to creating an open and friendly Vilnius". In September, "Hobiverse" starts a new initiative that unites differences - throughout the autumn, it donates activities that promote sustainability and inclusiveness: creative, sports or concert educations, to various social organizations of the capital - VšĮ "Seniorų avilys", Lithuanian autism association "Lietaus vaikii", VšĮ Vilnius University hospital Santara clinics,. Others are expected.
Changes in the spaces of the center itself are also related to the new name: the Center has opened an "Open Youth Space" and a youth "Information and Counseling Point", the large and small swimming pools, and the Wellness Zone have been renovated.
Starting in September, 12 new clubs are opening their doors to Hobbyverse. These are "Mother and child hour with clay" for the smallest ones, "Musical carousel" for preschoolers, Dance fairy" - solo latino, painting studio "Palette", self-development and nature experience program "Kodas Aš", which invites you to travel through the colorful and deep selves and labyrinths of learning about the surrounding environment, experiencing nature therapy, strengthening the connection with wild nature.
