Yesterday, the renovated Vladislavas Sirokomlė gymnasium was visited by the mayor together with the employees of the municipal administration Remigius Šimašius. In a meeting with the school community and the elder of Šnipiškii, the renovated gymnasium premises were inspected, relevant issues and completed works were discussed.
Due to the renovation, the students of V. Sirokomole Gymnasium started this school year scattered around other educational institutions of the city, and returned to the newly renovated and modernized school after the winter vacation, so they still live in the festive mood of the founding.
The "Vilnius Development Company" coordinating the repair project, together with the parents' community and the school administration, found a solution so that the students of V. Sirokomlė Gymnasium could continue their studies at their own school. The rest of the minor repairs will be done after school and on weekends.
The modernization works of the gymnasium took place in several stages: in the first stage, the building was heated - education in the pro-gymnasium building was not stopped. In September 2020, after buying additional repairs to the heating system, it was decided to install a new ventilation-conditioning system.
The equipment installed in the renovated V. Sirokomlė gymnasium is one of the most modern on the market. Quality learning time and a clean environment are guaranteed by the newly installed ventilation and air conditioning system in classrooms and classrooms. The new ventilation system will ensure a standard (about 30 cubic meters/hour) amount of fresh air for each student. Then the feeling of well-being, work efficiency improves, fatigue and sleepiness decrease.
The new recovery system will help up to 80 percent. to reduce heating costs, the most modern VRF type fifth generation (variable refrigerant flow) air cooling system is installed in rooms where the temperature rises sharply during the heat in late spring and early summer. It will be possible to cool the premises to a comfortable temperature.
During the modernization of the school, the pipelines were replaced, the electrical and alarm systems were updated, the technological equipment for food preparation was changed in the kitchen and a ventilation system was installed.
In the V. Sirokomlė gymnasium, minor repair work remained to be completed - repainting the corridors with water-based paints and adjusting the new systems. The renovation of the school will be completed by the beginning of February. The total cost of modernization works (warming, heating system, ventilation and interior decoration) is about 4,3 million. Eur.
