The universities and gymnasiums occupying the first positions do not change this year either - they remain the leaders among universities Vilnius University, and among high schools - Vilnius and Klaipėda lyceums, Kaunas college is leading among colleges.
This was announced on Wednesday by the magazine "Reingai", which compiles a table of educational institutions every year.
Last year Kaunas college was in the second position. Vilnius College, which had been a leader for a long time at that time, remained second this year, Kaunas Technical College was third, and the Lithuanian Higher Maritime School is in fourth place. Vilnius Technology and Design College and Šiauliai State College shared the fifth place.
"The main message is that municipal and state schools are already starting to lag behind private schools. The trend is that private schools will soon become the absolute leaders in the ranking of high schools. And this was largely determined and will be determined by the decisions of education politicians in recent years," the "Ratings" report states.
Among the universities, the leaders remain the same, only the lower positions differ
Universities with lower positions are lined up differently this year.
Lithuanian University of Health Sciences is in second place in the ranking table of state universities, last year it was third.
Vytautas the Great University rose to third from fourth place during the year. Kaunas University of Technology took the fourth place in the ranking table. In 2022, he was second.
In fifth place, as last year, Vilnius TECH University maintained its position.
Among private universities, the ISM University of Management and Economics is traditionally in the lead, the European Humanities University is in second place, and Kazimier Simonavičius University is in third place, which was fourth last year.
Universities were evaluated according to 39 different parameters, grouped into five criteria. When compiling the ratings, the greatest attention is paid to the evaluations of employers, students and studies, scientific, artistic or sports activities and the achievements of the staff.
The worst achievements of students are in Pagėgii, the best are in the capital
Among the gymnasiums that have the right to select students, the Vilnius Lyceum, KTU gymnasium leads the ranking table, while the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences gymnasium is in third place. Last year, this position was occupied by Klaipėda "Ažuolyno" high school. Vilnius Jesuit Gymnasium was fourth, and Vilnius M. Biržiška Gymnasium was fifth.
Klaipėda Lyceum is the first among schools that do not select students, followed by Panevėžys J. Balčikonis Gymnasium. Last year she was fourth. Next in line are Šiauliai J. Janonis Gymnasium, Kaunas "Saulė" Gymnasium and Marijampole Marian Gymnasium.
Gymnasium rankings are based on the results of last year's state matriculation exams. Gymnasiums received points only for those graduates who passed the exams with grades no lower than 36. The results of the graduates with the lowest scores were not evaluated.
Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga, Klaipeda and Šiauliai.
The worst student achievements were recorded in Pagėgii, Šilalė, Alytus, Šiauliai and Šakii districts and Kalvarija.
