Residents visit their relatives and friends during the festive season, so it is difficult for cars to fit in the courtyards of apartment buildings. Sometimes, when they can't find a parking space in an unfamiliar yard or don't notice waste containers, guests deposit them. What does this mean for apartment dwellers? If the access to the containers is blocked, they cannot be emptied in time.
It will run on a regular schedule
After unpacking the gifts and setting the festive table, almost twice as much waste goes into the containers than usual, so during this busy period it is important not only to park the car in an orderly manner so that the waste handlers can come and service the containers according to the schedule, but also to remember the waste sorting rules.
The environmental management company "Ecoservice" will carry out waste removal during the festive period on a regular schedule - the containers will also be serviced during Christmas, Christmas or New Year. However, whether yards and surroundings will be in order on festive days will depend not only on the efforts of waste managers, but also on the responsibility of the residents themselves.
During the festive period, a lot of packaging is thrown away, so the parts of composite plastic-cardboard gift packaging should be separated, the packaging should be compressed and only then thrown into paper and plastic containers. Material gift ribbons go to household waste containers, gift bags, leftover gift wrapping paper - to the paper packaging container.
Ecoservice Sustainability Manager Linas Černiauskas reminds us of one more rule: if the containers are overflowing, waste bags cannot be left nearby, because they not only look unsightly, they complicate the work of managers, birds and animals scatter waste around the yard, it can freeze to the ground, then it is more difficult to move the containers themselves. Glass packaging can shatter and pose a danger to both residents and animals.
Work is adjusted by weather conditions
Weather conditions are particularly changeable in winter and can change even on the same day. In multi-apartment yards, garden communities or blocks of individual houses, where a light car can easily pass when it snows or ice forms, it is more difficult for heavy vehicles to pass, especially if you have to overcome slopes or hills when driving to the containers.
"If it is snowing or slippery, we ask residents, if possible, to sprinkle slippery sections of the road with sand and salt or ashes in secluded areas or yards. If the containers are on a slope or a slope, even after approaching the containers, the special vehicles cannot always serve them because they simply start to slide. It is also difficult for large garbage trucks to maneuver in the narrow courtyard streets, every millimeter is important here, so it is very important to take care of the cars - not to park containers", reminded L. Černiauskas.
